Dr. Kanhaiya Singh, PhD, Associate Professor, received the Wound Healing Society Excellence in Translational Regenerative Science Award during the Spring 2024 Symposium on Advanced Wound Care (SAWC) and Wound Healing Society meeting held May 14-17 in Orlando, FL. The purpose of this award is to recognize scientific work that fosters the development of cell-based and other therapies in wound healing and regenerative medicine toward clinical applicability. Dr. Singh and his team have utilized single cell RNA sequencing to identify molecular pathways that are compromised in diabetic wound healing and employing cell specific gene epigenetic editing to rescue diabetic vasculopathy to improve healing.
