Tirthadipa Pradhan-Sundd, PhD

Dr. Tirthadipa Pradhan-Sundd is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the University of Pittsburgh, Division of Hematology/Oncology.  Prior to this appointment, she was a Research Assistant Professor in Department of Medicine.

Dr. Pradhan-Sundd studied in India at the University of Calcutta and the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, in the UK at the University of Sheffield, and in Canada at Simon Fraser University where she received her PhD in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry.

Dr. Pradhan-Sundd’s research interests include: Identifying molecular targets of sickle cell hepatobiliary injury; role of coagulation components in chronic live disease; understanding the mechanism of chronic liver injury progression by intravital imaging; and, vascular disorders of the liver.

Dr. Pradhan-Sundd has received numerous awards for recognition of her work.  Some recent examples include:  Lille Award, Histochemical Society, 2020; Dani and Eric Zander Junior Faculty Travel Award, ASIP, 2020; Early Stage Investigator Award, Histochemical Society 2020; and, NIH K01 2020-2015 (NIH-NIDDK).

She is also a member of these professional organizations:  North American Vascular Biology Organization; American Society of Hematology; American Gastroenterology Association; The Histochemical Society; American Society of Immunology; American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases; and, American Society of Investigative Pathology.
