Jarrod P. Kaufman, MD, FACS
Dr. Jarrod Kaufman is the Chairman of Surgery, Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus, and a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery Temple University School of Medicine. He is a founding member of Premier Surgical & Premier Vein Center, Brick, New Jersey. He is a board certified general and advanced laparoscopic surgeon. An expert in performing advanced laparoscopic procedures, he employs new, minimally invasive technologies and advanced surgical techniques to achieve maximum results.
Dr. Kaufman attended his undergraduate studies from 1988-1992 at Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA, earning a BA in Biology, graduating with University and Departmental Honors. He attended medical school from 1993-1997 at Sackler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv, Israel, earning his MD in May 1997.
As a laparoscopic surgeon, public speaker, medical consultant, cancer prevention advocate and surgical mission team leader, Dr. Kaufman has devoted his career to the learning and advancement of cutting-edge treatments and procedures. In his private practice, he performs minimally invasive surgery, surgical oncology, treats complicated hernias, anorectal diseases, provides wound care and minimally invasive vein procedures.
Dr. Kaufman serves as the NJ State Chair, Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons. He is also the Emeritus Chair, Melanoma Workgroup: NJ Governor’s Task Force on Cancer Prevention, Early Detection & Treatment. As president of Hernia Repair for the Underserved, Dr. Kaufman builds teams to perform surgeries in communities living in dire medical conditions. He has also earned an international reputation among pharmaceutical and medical device companies as a sought-after surgical consultant.
