Jenny Ziembicki, MD
Dr. Jenny Ziembicki is the Medical Director of the Burn Center at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Mercy Hospital, Department of Surgery, Division of Trauma and Burns.
A Pittsburgh native, Dr. Ziembicki attended Duquesne University and went on to receive her doctorate of medicine at Temple University. She completed her general surgery residency at the University Hospitals of Cleveland/Case Western Reserve University, followed by a trauma/burn and surgical critical care fellowship at Metro Health Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Ziembicki accepted a position as a trauma and burn surgeon at UPMC Mercy in July 2008 and was appointed Burn Center Director in April 2010.
Dr. Ziembicki has a special interest in the development of UPMC Mercy’s comprehensive outpatient burn therapy program, which allows patients a more expedient return to a productive lifestyle. She is also a dedicated advocate in burn injury prevention, especially in the geriatric and pediatric population. Dr. Ziembicki is an active Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) instructor and supporter of pre-hospital education and outreach activities.
