From Soft Tissue Engineering and Adipose Biology to Post-Oncologic Patient Care
Speaker: Dr. Asim Ejaz, Assistant Professor, Department of Plastic Surgery, University of Pittsburgh
About the Speaker: Dr. Asim Ejaz is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Plastic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh. His research focuses on soft tissue engineering to improve post-oncologic patient care and understanding the effects of aging on adipose tissue biology. His ongoing projects include using adipose tissue derived products to treat radiation-induced fibrosis and uncovering the biological mechanisms involved in its mitigation. In addition, Dr. Ejaz is investigating the link between adipose tissue aging and age-related insulin resistance.
Dr. Ejaz will be presenting on his abdominoplasty model work.
