Celebrating international success from the D’Amore Lab!

We’re thrilled to highlight the accomplishments of two members of the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine worldwide research team:

The Foundation Blanceflor has granted a distinguished visiting fellowship to Ignazio Niosi, a PhD candidate at the University of Palermo and a current visiting researcher in the Cardiovascular Tissue Engineering group at Fondazione Ri.MED under the direction of Dr. Antonio D’Amore. Congratulations, Ignazio!

At a recent international conference, Flaviana Falci’s talk “Mandrel-less fabrication of biomimetic engineered chordae tendinae” earned her the title of Best Runners-Up for Oral Presentation. Her study demonstrrates innovation at the forefront of tissue engineering and was co-written with partners from the University of Pittsburgh, the University of Palermo, and Fondazione Ri.MED. Congratulations, Flaviana!

These accolades are an indicator to our joint research community’s commitment and international influence. We are honored to recognize their achievements!
