Mr. Jamelle Price is the External Relations Manager in the Office of Strategy and Business Development at the University of Pittsburgh McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine. He is charged with overseeing all aspects of the institute’s marketing, communications, external relations, and government relations efforts. His focus will be on strategy development and execution of a comprehensive marketing communications plan to highlight the institute’s research, faculty, students, staff, and programs to key constituencies.
In a dual capacity, Mr. Price is the Marketing Manager for the Center for Military Medicine Research at the University of Pittsburgh. He is charged with handling all facets of web content, social media, and other digital efforts to amplify the centers’ message connecting medical research work done at Pitt to the broader Department of Defense community.
Previously, Mr. Price was the Special Projects Coordinator under the Office of Strategy and Business Development at the McGowan Institute, with a focus on project management, event planning, marketing, communications, and advocacy for various programs operated under the purview of the Strategy and Business Development Officer.
Prior to joining McGowan, Mr. Price was an organizer for the Hillary for America Presidential campaign responsible for increasing voter turnout in the Mon Valley area of Allegheny County, PA. Also, before joining the campaign, Mr. Price served in numerous contract roles with McKesson Patient Care Solutions, Kraft Heinz Corp. and Sears Holdings, Inc.
Mr. Price began his career with CONSOL Energy, Inc. as a Title Administrator in the land department. For the first three years, Mr. Price was responsible for legal title opinion review and analysis and ownership reporting for environmental permit applications. The last three and one-half years saw a transition to budget and finance administration for the title department with responsibility for a $40 million budget that included cost projection and analysis, invoicing, personnel expenses, and reporting.
Mr. Price holds both a BA in Social Sciences (majoring in Pre-Law and Political Science, minor in Business Management) and an MBA from Waynesburg University and MS in Integrated Marketing Communications from West Virginia University.
