Dr. William Chung is a Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, School of Dental Medicine, University of Pittsburgh. He is also a Staff Surgeon with University Dental Health Services, UPMC, Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, and UPMC Mercy Hospital. Dr. Chung is one of the Pittsburgh Penguins Team Maxillofacial Trauma Surgeons.
Dr. Chung received his dental degree from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, and his medical degree from Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed internships at MetroHealth Medical Center & Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and at MCP-Hahnemann University & Allegheny University Hospital. He finished his residency training from Temple University Hospital.
Dr. Chung is a Diplomate of the United States National Board of Dental Examiners and a Faculty Fellow of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, the Western Pennsylvania Society of Oral & Maxillofacial, the Pennsylvania Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, and both the American and the European Society of Temporomandibular Joint Surgeons. Dr. Chung is Board Certified in the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a faculty member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honors Society, Beta Chapter at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dentistry.
Dr. Chung's clinical and research areas of interest include Temporomandibular Joint Disorders and Ambulatory Anesthesia.
