Dr. William Chung is a Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He is a Staff Surgeon at UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside and Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh campuses, UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, and University Dental Health Services. Dr. Chung is also one of the volunteer Maxillofacial Trauma Surgeons for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Dr. Chung received his dental degree from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, and his medical degree from Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed internships at the MetroHealth Medical Center & Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and at MCP-Hahnemann University Hospital. He finished his residency training from Temple University Hospital.
Dr. Chung is a Faculty Fellow of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a member of the Western Pennsylvania Society of Oral & Maxillofacial, the Pennsylvania Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, and both the American and the European Society of Temporomandibular Joint Surgeons. Dr. Chung is Board Certified in the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a faculty member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, Beta Chapter, an Honors Dental Society at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Chung's clinical and research areas of interest include Temporomandibular Joint Disorders and Ambulatory Anesthesia.
