Dr. Michael Steketee is an Associate Project Scientist, Department of Ophthalmology, University of California, San Diego. He earned his PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Michigan and completed a Post Doc at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Department of Ophthalmology, University of Miami, studying under Jeffrey L. Goldberg, MD, PhD. Dr. Steketee was formerly affiliated with the UPMC Eye Center.
Dr. Steketee’s research focus is on axon regeneration and vision preservation, central nervous system regeneration, tissue engineering, and optic nerve regeneration. He is a member of the Society for Neuroscience and the American Heart Association.
