CATER students participated in many events at the annual McGowan Institute Scientific Retreat, which was held at Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, West Virginia earlier this month. Here are some highlights from the two day event:

Daniel Zuppo and Alexis Nolfi each presented the following poster teasers on the first day of the retreat:

“Contact Lens Delivery of Interleukin-4 for Treatment of Dry Eye Disease Promotes Anti-inflammatory Macrophage Populations”
    Alexis Nolfi, BS
    PhD Student
    Department of Bioengineering
    University of Pittsburgh
    Poster #37

foxm1 is required for cardiomyocyte proliferation after zebrafish cardiac injury
    Daniel Zuppo, BS
    PhD Student
    Department of Developmental Biology
    University of Pittsburgh
    Poster #19

Alexis Nolfi won first place for her presentation on her project entitled, “Contact Lens Delivery of Interleukin-4 for Treatment of Dry Eye Disease Promotes Anti-inflammatory Macrophage Populations” for the Technology Pitch Competition.

All CATER students presented posters on the first day of the retreat, and the following students won awards for their presentations (sponsored by MIRM):
